From the August 27, 1908 Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri), page 4:

Quitman Man Buys Blacksmith Shop.
A trade was made one day last week in which the blacksmith shop that was owned by Thomas Hutchison and located just north of I. S. Dawson’s feed mill, became the property of J. W. Weddle, of Quitman.

Mr. Weddle has had many years’ experience at his trade and is considered one of the best blacksmiths in northwest Missouri. He has taken possession and is ready for business. His family will continue to reside in Quitman for the present but will move to our town later.
