The New Baby Must Have a New Go-Cart

Still shopping for a Mother’s Day gift for the new mom in your circle? Look no further than a new go-cart for baby. At least, that’s what Jordan, Thomas & Co. of Skidmore, Missouri recommended in 1908. Here’s their ad from the June 4, 1908 edition of the Skidmore New Era:

Advertisement features a woman in early 20th century dress pushing a stroller with a toddler in it. Text of ad follows.
Go-Carts for baby, as advertised in the June 4, 1908 edition of the Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri)

The ad reads, “Go-Carts! The new baby surely must have a new go-cart. Don’t try to use a shabby, second-hand one. If appearance counts with you, you will be just as particular in the selection of the little one’s cart as you will be in the selection of its lingerie, or its little coat and bonnet. We have just made a special purchase of collapsible and folding go-carts, which are now on exhibition in our show rooms. There are many new and splendid designs among them. Some of the conveniences and improvements are truly surprising. If you are going to buy a cart you can’t afford to miss this opportunity. The prices will please you, as well as the article itself. Jordan Thomas & Co.”
