Team Stolen

Crime report from the July 26, 1901 Skidmore Standard, page 2:

Team Stolen

Last Tuesday evening Mr. Charlie Keever hired a team of Grant Barnard, a liveryman in Fairfax, and said he would want them about two hours.  The man and team did not “show up” when the two hours were up but Mr. Barnard thought nothing about the matter, but when another day had dawned and no team, he became uneasy.  He began to investigate the matter and found that Keever had drove to Skidmore Tuesday evening arriving here about midnight.

Here he was joined by his wife who was visiting in town, and they continued their journey east.

Their whereabouts has not yet been learned but an effort is being made to capture them.
