Skidmore, Missouri was a busy place in 1908, as we can see by these statistics from the Skidmore New Era, December 12, 1908, page 1:

The following is the list of the freight handled by the Skidmore Station for the month of November:

Out Cars

Cattle – 15
Hogs – 21
Apples – 5
Total – 43

In Cars
Sewer pipe – 1
Hard coal – 2
Soft coal – 4
Flour – 2
Feed – 2
Lumber – 1
Cattle – 1
Salt – 1
Immigrant – 1
Total – 15

Making a total of 58 cars for the month.
Besides this the station handled 131,355 pounds of L. C. L. [less-than-car-load] coming in and 43,785 pounds of out going freight.
