Shower for Mr. and Mrs. Ralston McClain, 1921

From the Skidmore News (Skidmore, Missouri), March 31, 1921, page 1:

Shower For Newly-Weds.
A goodly number of Christian church folk gathered at the church last Friday evening and enjoyed a very pleasant evening, the occasion being a reception and shower for the newly-weds, Mr. and Mrs. Ralston McClain.

The evening was spent in music and games; a very enjoyable number being the duet rendered by the guests of honor.

Mr. and Mrs. McClain were the recipients of several gifts that will prove useful to them in the future and serve to remind them of the good wishes of their many friends.

The evening’s enjoyment was brought to a close by the serving of refreshments consisting of ice cream and cake, after which Mr. and Mrs. McClain were treated to a fine (?) ride in the red cart that is used by A. F. Howden about his seed house.
