Royal Neighbors Install Officers, 1912

From the January 25, 1912 Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri), page 1:

Royal Neighbors Install Officers.
Several Members of the Mound City Lodge Up and Put on Work.

The Royal Neighbor hall was the meeting place of a happy bunch of women last Saturday. Upon invitation about eighteen members of the Royal Neighbor Lodge at Mound City came up and were highly entertained by the ladies here.

At noon about forty people were served to a three course dinner consisting of everything good to eat, and they sure did justice to teh things before them.

At 2 o’clock the lodge was called to order by Oracle Owens, with some difficulty too, I guess, for some of the ladies insisted on remaining at the table, and said they never did see such good “grub.” But finally order was brought about and the regular business transacted, after which Skidmore lodge surrendered their chairs to the Mound City lodge and the installation of officers took place, and was done with much credit to the visiting lodge.

One very pretty feature of the meeting was a fancy drill rendered by the Mound City lodge, in a very nice manner.

Skidmore lodge now took the chairs with the following officers in their places:

Mamie Stovall, Oracle.
Delia Masters, Vice Oracle.
May Owens, Past Oracle.
Lillie Bosley, Chancellor.
Pearl Otis, Recorder.
Mary Dawson, Receiver.
Laura Hickman, Sentinel.
Mary Reese, Outer Sentinel.
Ida French, Marshal.
Margaret Barrett, asst. Marshal.
