Text of ad for Mrs. Willis Reese: “Public Sale. I will sell at the Linville farm, known as the old Torrey farm, one mile east of Skidmore, beginning at 2 o’clock p.m., on Saturday, April 2, 1921, 19 head of ewes and 14 lambs. 1 registered Hampshire Brood Sow, will farrow about May 15. 8 good shoats. Old Trusty Incubator and Brooder, nearly new. Over 150 10-day-old Brown Leghorn Chicks. 150 feet of Poultry netting. Over 10 bushels choice home-grown Early Ohio Seed Potatoes. Household goods: 2 beds, complete, with Slumber King Springs and Mattresses (good as new); 3 dressers; 1 solid oak buffet; 1 solid oak round dining table; 1 solid oak library table; 2 solid oak rockers; 4 solid oak dining chairs; 1 book case; 1 child’s rocker; 1 high chair; 1 hall rack; 1 mahogany rocker; 1 Hoosier Kitchen Cabinet; 2 kitchen chairs; 1 couch; 3 small rugs; 3 large rugs; 1 violin; 1 guitar; 1 mandolin; some dishes; etc. Terms: all sales strictly cash. Text of ad for C. E. Reese: “Public Sale. I will sell at the Reese farm 3 miles east and 1/2 mile south of Skidmore, 12 miles southwest of Maryville and 6 miles south of Graham the following described property of the Reese Estate on Thursday, April 7th: 17 head horses, some broke. Good solid work horses. Some just ready to break. A few good growthy. 1 team colts. 22 head cattle. 16 white face heifers, springers, 6 milch cows, some with calves at foot. 2 sows and 8 good shoats. Farm implements: 2 wagons, 1 manure spreader, 1 binder, 1 haw rake, 1 side-delivery rake, 3 single-row cultivators, 2 double-row cultivators, 1 wheat drill, 1 corn planter, 1 stalk cutter, harrows, go-devils, breaking plows, 1 well drilling outfit and a lot of casing, a lot of 3/4-inch and one-inch galvanized pipe — good as new, 2 oil-burning engines — one 5-horse and one 9-horse and truck complete, 1 pump jack, 4 sets good harness, 1-row lister and drill combined, 2-row lister and drill combined, 300 good hedge posts, 100 big 10-foot hedge posts — good ones. 1 pile of hedge wood – stove length. Other articles too numerous to mention. Terms: All sums of $10 or under, cash. Balance, 6 months time, 8 per cent, by purchaser giving bankable note.
