Some positive agricultural news from the November 4, 1915 Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri), page 1:

Prize Winners.

Last week was a red letter week for Monroe township at the normal corn contest.

Vernon Goslee entered 10 ears of Yellow Dent corn and took first on 10 ears, first on single ear and sweepstakes overall in his class, yellow or white.

Orville Suetterlin entered 10 ears white corn and secured first. he did the same last year. Ettie Suetterlin took first prize on canned pears. Jake Suetterlin took first prize on Millet.

We understand that more than sixty dollars were brought to the township with these premiums. It pays to plant good seed.
