Only One Saloon in Maryville Now.
County Court Refused License to Adolph Lippman. Not Enough Signatures in Block to Warrant Application.

The County Court refused the issuance of a license to Adolph Lippman for a saloon in Maryville Tuesday on account of the petition not having enough signatures in the block in which the saloon was to be located.

The Lippman petition was hotly contested and the court decided that it did not contain the necessary two-thirds majority.

Lippman says that he will go to his farm for a year as he has been in business thirty years and needs the rest.
