North Burr Oak Items.
The Burr Oak Ladies Aid Society met in all day session at the home of Mrs. W. B. Ward Thursday, May 5. Two quilts were finished. Dinner was served at noon, and a business meeting was held in the afternoon.

Those present were: Mrs. Chas. Brown; Mrs. Mary Garnett; Mrs. Jesse Roberts; Mrs. Austin Roberts; Mrs. N. J. Squires; Mrs. F. C. Barber; Mrs. Ross Appleman; Mrs. Will Argo; Mrs. Alvin Chaney; Mrs. Jesse McDonald; Mrs. Fred Haynes; Mrs. Floyd Barrett; Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Sauceman; Mrs. Emma Sauceman; Mrs. M. O. Stovall; Mr. and Mrs. Hays Ruddell; Misses Della Folden, Vernita Ruddell, Ophelia Ward, Fay Roberts, Mary Lois Ruddell, Francis and Erman Sauceman, Pauline Chaney, Elloise McDonald, Helen and Donald Haynes, Jimmy and Elinor Rose Barrett, William Ruddell, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Ward.

Sunday, May 8, being Jesse McDonald’s birthday, a surprise was planned and successfully carried out as far as he was concerned, although there were a number of those invited who were disappointed on account of rain. Those who were present to partake of the basket dinner were: Mr. and Mrs. Ross Appleman, Mr. and Mrs. Will Argo, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Ward, Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Stovall, Mr. and Mrs. Hays Ruddell, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Riley, Miss Vernita Ruddell, Mr. Bud Irwin, William and Mary Lois Ruddell; Lawrence, Ralph, Roy and Irene Riley; Leona Appleman, Carl Wilson Ward.
