M. E. Church Ladies Gather Corn, 1922

From the December 14, 1922 Skidmore News (Skidmore, Missouri), page 1:

Gathered 137 Bushels of Corn.

The ladies of the M. E. church accepted another invitation to the corn field Monday to gather corn.

F. I. Goslee offered the ladies 30 bushels and ten cents a bushel for all corn they gathered over the 30 bushels.

Twenty women went out to the field Monday and gathered about 137 bushels. The women sold their corn at 65 cents per bushel to Harry Worl.

They realized for their work about $30.

The ladies are still ready to help anyone who is behind with their corn gathering.
