From the October 26, 1900 Skidmore Standard, page 1:

Cupid Smiles

The Standard has the pleasure this week of announcing the marriage of Mr. Alva P. Logan and Miss Ida May Ocker, two well-known people, in Skidmore and surrounding communities.  The wedding occurred Wednesday afternoon at the bride’s home 2 1/2 miles south of town, Elder N. Rollo Davis, of Burlington Junction, officiating.  It was a very quiet wedding.  Only a few intimate friends, in addition to the immediate relatives, were present.  A number of valuable and handsome presents were bestowed upon the happy couple.  Then came the splendid wedding supper, the departing of the guests and the big in-fair dinner the next day, given by the parents of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Logan, east of town.

The Standard congratulates these two deserving young people and wishes them more joy than sorrow as they journey down life’s road, hand in hand, together.
