We hadn’t heard of the Will C. Free brand of sewing machines, had you? From the October 22, 1908 Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri), page 5:

The ad reads, “Follow this advice! Don’t buy just a sewing machine, buy a Will C. Free machine. There is long life, a myriad of new conveniences, economy and infinite pleasure in a FREE machine. It is the easiest running machine made, and they cost no more than the ordinary kind. Let us demonstrate to you their many points of advantage. Jordan, Thomas & Co.”
