Four Mail Trains a Day

From the October 29, 1908 Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri), page 4:

Four Mail Trains a Day.
Postmaster, George Stoolfer, received official notice Wednesday from D. E. Burness, chief clerk of the Post-office Department and division of railway mail service that commencing the 28th inst., R. P. O. service (railroad post-office service) will be established in trains 56 and 57, Villisca and St. Joseph lines.

This will give Skidmore four regular mail trains each day, except Sunday. All passenger trains will now carry mail the same as the early morning and late evening trains have been.

Verily Skidmore doth improve. You will have to hurry if you keep up with the procession.
