Elmo Picnic, 1921

Elmo to Have Picnic

Several automobile loads of folks from Elmo, accompanied by the band, made a tour of the county Tuesday, advertising the Elmo annual picnic which will be held on August 30 and 31 and September 1, under the management of the Elmo Lodge No. 6, I. O. O. F. The first day will be farmers day, second day I. O. O. F. day, and third day American Legion day.

The speakers for the first day are Charles Watts, president of the Farmers’ Union Commission Company; S. J. Kleinschmidt will talk on grain marketing; T. E. Donnell, Member of Committee of Seventeen; Paul B. Naylor, Farm Bureau Organizer; R. A. Kinnaird, county agent; J. R. Evans, President County Farm Bureau.

Speakers for the second day: Rev. E. J. Spear of Elmo and H. S. Kanres, Past Grand Master of I. O. O. F. of Missouri, who will talk on Oddfellowship.

Judge John M. Dawson of Maryville and Col. Ruby Garrett of Kansas City will speak the third day.

Music will be furnished by the Elmo band, and there will be plenty of attractions during the picnic.
