Drag the Roads

Aren’t you glad we can cross this task off our lists? From the November 12, 1908 Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri), page 4:

Get Busy, Drag the Roads!
Now is the time for the farmers to drag the roads and put them in good shape for winter. Several of the rural mail routes in other parts of the country have been discontinued on account of bad roads. Let us not have any complaint from Uncle Samuel on that score in this township. We need the mail service and we need the roads, and we can have both if we want them. Farmers should get busy and “make hay while the sun shines.”
