We celebrate the hearts and flowers of Valentines Day and warm the cold light of February by recalling weddings from years past.  Today’s comes from the Skidmore New Era, February 25, 1915, page 1:

Pretty Home Wedding

On last Sunday, Feb. 21, at 12:30 o’clock, occurred the pretty home wedding of Miss Neva Mae Devers and Mr. Charley H. Money at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Devers, in east Skidmore.  Rev. M. DeWitt saying the words that united this excellent young couple in the holy bonds of matrimony.  Only a few of the near relatives and friends of the family being present.  Mrs. Money is the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Devers and is a very modest and refined young lady of many fine qualities.

The bride’s dress was of white organdy and shadow lace and she carried a beautiful bouquet of bridal roses.

Miss Fannie Devers and Mr. W. E. Linville acted as attendants to the bride and groom.

After the ceremony and congratulations, Mrs. Devers served a fine wedding dinner.

Mr. Money is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Money, who reside in Nebraska.  Charley is an industrious young farmer and a gentleman in every respect.

They will reside on the Collins place, one and one-half miles west of Skidmore, where Joe Worl lives, after the first of March.

May their life be full of sunshine and contentment.
