Daniel Brown Visits Kentucky.

From the November 19, 1908 Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri), page 1:

Will go to Kentucky.
Daniel Brown will start to Kentucky the last of the week to make his three brothers and other relatives and friends in “his old Kentucky home” an extended visit.

Mr. Brown left Summerset, Pluaska county, Kentucky, in 1869, landing in Graham, Mo., November 18, just 38 years ago, Wednesday. He lived in Graham the first winter and then moved to the west part of the county, where he improved his fine farm of 440 acres, which he sold a few years ago to his children for $50 an acre. This land would now sell for $100 an acre. He then moved to Skidmore, purchasing the residence, in which he now lives, of G. D. Fullerton.

Uncle Dan is one of the “grand old men” of Nodaway county, the kind that makes a community better and richer by his having lived in it.
