D. H. Arnold’s Old Time Coin

We’d like to know if it’s still in the family. From the Skidmore News (Skidmore, Missouri), January 13, 1921, page 5:

Has Old Time Coin.
D. H. Arnold is the possessor of a United States coin which has now passed the century mark, and which from all appearances will still be in existence when another hundred years has passed.

It is a twenty-five cent piece, and was coined in 1821. Mr. Arnold found it when as a boy he was breaking ground on his father’s farm. It is slightly larger than the twenty-five cent piece of today, but very similar in appearance. It evidently had not been in circulation long when lost, as the lettering is distinct and the corrugated edge unworn.
