Boot Sales, 1908

From the October 29, 1908 Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri), page 7:

“R. B. Foster reports a sale of over 100 pair of gum boots and rubbers Friday and Saturday. One man bought nine pair of overshoes and one family four pair of rubber boots.”
“The first day or two after the snow storm our dry goods merchants did a land office business in cleaning up a lot of fall and winter goods. The Monarch sold a whole window full of caps, sweaters and gloves. Armstrong & Covington made a record breaker on overshoes. R. B. Foster put out a large line of rubber goods and E. T. Duval was busy selling fall wear.”
