An up-to-date garage, 1913

Business news from the January 30, 1913 Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri), page 1:

An Up-to-Date Garage

The Skidmore Garage has just been completely remodeled with a plate glass front and large glass door that hoists up out of the way, a cement floor full length of the building and a workman’s pit in the back part of the building. One of the novel features of the new building is a turn table in the center of the room on which you can run a car and turn it around with ease. This is a patent of Twins and is as handy as a pocket in a shirt.

We can see that the Skidmore Garage worked to stay up-to-date. Later, from the September 13, 1917 Skidmore News:
Work is progressing nicely on the Skidmore Garage building. The steam heating plant was installed the past few days and the concrete floor is almost completed. This is a building Skidmore is proud of. It surely makes an attractive addition to the business district.
