We celebrate the hearts and flowers of Valentines Day and warm the cold light of February by recalling weddings from years past. Today’s comes from the January 13, 1899 Skidmore Standard, page 1:
“It is not good for man to live alone,” so says the Bible, and sooner or later in life every man realizes the truth of the saying and acts accordingly. Our townsman, C. W. Yetter, and Mrs. Mary Wilson were married at Mr. Yetter’s residence Sunday evening at 6 o’clock by Eld. N. Rollo Davis of Maryville. The affair was a very quiet one and none of the friends knew of it until it was all over. But the cigars were passed and the STANDARD smoked to a long continuation of the present happiness of Mr. and Mrs. Yetter.
