What happens when you don’t tell the editor

What happens when you don’t take a moment to report your news to the editor? We see the result in the May 18, 1922 Skidmore News (Skidmore, Missouri), page 8:

The News is always glad to have the particulars concerning any parties or gatherings that are held in the community. It is understood that there was a party of some sort at the Kellogg place northeast of town one night last week, but no report was handed in. Everyone probably had a good time.
