John Weller and son, Ernest, of near Graham have gathered 1,403 pounds of white clover seed and sold it last Friday to a St. Joseph Seed Co. for the sum of $701.50. The seed was gathered from twelve acres of blue grass pasture after the blue grass seed had been sold for $15 per acre. This made a profit of $88.45 an acre for a product that is usually wasted. It is news to a great many farmers that there should be a market for white clover seed at all, according to the opinion of the Graham Tribune, which newspaper is of the opinion that the above is the first attempt to utilize the product in this country. — Maryville Tribune.
