That’ll Show ‘Em

After a few years of the Lecture Course planning process, the wise men of Skidmore saw an opportunity and ran with it in 1904.  From the April 1, 1904 Skidmore Standard, page 4:

Our Lecture Course

At a meeting of the Lecture Club yesterday it was suggested that the ladies be allowed to select or help select the talent for the coming season.  The committee acting on the matter were rather sorry that they had never thought of that idea before, so in order to partially atone for their neglect showed their gallantry by turning the whole business over to the ladies of the city, feeling assured that the lecture course would be better than ever.

The committees will soon select numbers for the next season and we may expect an excellent course.  We will give a full account of their meeting next issue.
