Sports Injury for Miss Effie Carroll

We applaud Miss Carroll for playing baseball with her pupils, and we hope she recovered quickly. From the March 3, 1921 Skidmore News (Skidmore, Missouri), page 5:

Miss Effie Carroll, teacher of the Harmony school, suffered quite a painful injury Tuesday while playing base ball with the pupils. She was struck by the ball, and the bridge of her nose was slightly cracked. While the experience was by no means pleasant, it was not serious, and as soon as Miss Carroll gets rid of her black eyes she will doubtless be ready to take her place at the bat again.
