Slow Down

Advice from Mayor Reynolds — some of which still applies today, we’d guess. From the May 6, 1920 Skidmore News (Skidmore, Missouri), page 1:

Slow Down
All persons who have been in the habit of seeing how fast their motor cars will run upon the streets of Skidmore, are hereby notified that unless they drive their car according to an ordinance which reads — not over ten miles per hour upon any street, and not over eight miles upon certain business streets — are subject to a fine.

Keep that cut out closed and keep your lights burning. Turn to right around the band stand.

These are small matters but they must be obeyed.

W. G. Reynolds, Mayor.
