Skidmore’s New Postmaster, 1921

From the August 18, 1921 Skidmore News (Skidmore, Missouri), p. 1:

Skidmore Has New Postmaster.

E. D. French has been appointed acting postmaster to succeed E. T. Duval, and took charge of the post office Monday morning. Mr. French will take the examination for post master which is to be held some time soon, and if he makes a passable grade will receive the permanent appointment.

Mr. French has not been relieved from his duties at the produce house, but has offered his resignation to become effective as soon as the companies for which he has been representative are able to arrange for another agent here. Fred Shell is in charge of the produce station for the present.
