Skidmore School Numbers, 1921

From the September 8, 1921 Skidmore News (Skidmore, Missouri), page 1:

School Opened Monday.

All rural and town schools in the Skidmore Consolidated District opened Monday. The enrollment in the town school is greater than last year, both in the grades and the high school. The total enrollment the first day was 158, and there are a few who will enter later. Superintendent Pierce has not been able to visit the rural schools and has had no report of the enrollment as yet.

There are 53 enrolled in the high school at the present time, of which number 27 are from the country and 5 are from outside the Consolidation.

Most of last year’s basket ball team are back this year, and the boys are already planning for the opening of the season. There are good prospects for a winning team this year. The literary societies and other school activities will be started within the next few weeks.
