Advertisement reads, “Closing-Out Sale! Having decided to move to Dakota we will sell at public auction at residence on the old Costillo place 3 1/2 miles west of Quitman, 7 miles northwest of Skidmore and 8 miles southwest of Burlington Junction, Tuesday, January 26, 1909, the following property: Mules – One good span of mules 6 years old, weighing about 1150 each; these are good ones. 6 head of horses, consisting of 2 bay driving horses, weight about 1100 each, aged 6 and 7, and 3 good farm mares and one good horse; all broke to work. 9 head of cows and calves: 3 good milch cows, to be fresh soon, 3 steer calves, 2 heifer calves and one coming 2-year-old heifer. 600 bu good corn in crib, 80 acres stalks in field, 250 good hedge fence posts. Implements – two farm wagons, one new Deering binder, one buggy, one nearly new disc, one Bradley gang plow, listers, riding cultivators and other things too numerous to mention. One set double harness, one set single, 4 sets work harness. Terms – All sums of $10 or under cash, over that amount 6 to 9 months credit, purchaser giving bankable note bearing 8 per cent from date.
