One Cool Passenger, 1908

We hope you and your four-legged friends are staying warm. In the March 5, 1908 Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri), we see a cool customer riding the rails:

On Thursday morning of last week a cool looking sort of passenger boarded the train at this place. He didn’t tell anyone where he was going but just climbed onto the rear platform of the back coach and watched back at his friends as he departed. This was Ellis Dawson’s dog, who went as far as Maitland and jumped off, returning home about noon.
