New Year’s Dance

If you are headed out to celebrate this evening, dress warmly, be careful, and have as good a time as they did at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Barber in 1919.  From the January 2, 1919 Skidmore Standard, page 1:

New Year’s Dance

At the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Barber, Wednesday evening of this week a number of young people enjoyed themselves tripping the “light fantastic.”  A number of those invited were unable to attend on account of bad roads.

During the evening a tempting two-course luncheon was heartily partaken of by the assembled guests.

Those who enjoyed the hospitality of Mr. and Mrs. Barber on this occasion were:  Misses Grace, Ada and Florence Foster, Ethel Porter, Alta Barrett and Letha Strickler, all of Skidmore, Miss Snider, of St. Joseph, Messrs Earl Cole, of Tarkio, Bert Strickler, Ralph Bilby, Leonard Jordan, Lansing Reese and Dean Goslee.
