New Fire Truck at Burlington Junction, 1921

From the Skidmore News (Skidmore, Missouri), February 24, 1921:

Will Have a Fire Truck.
Burlington Junction is to have a motor fire truck within a very few days. Its purchase was authorized at the regular meeting of the city council held Thursday evening.

A new Ford truck chassis has been purchased from W. G. Carpenter and the blacksmith firm of S. P. Ballenger & Son is now engaged in mounting the chemical tanks from the two chemical wagons on the chassis. The work will be completed within a day or two, and Burlington Junction will then have an emergency fire wagon adequate to handle any fire discovered in time to treat with chemicals. — Burlington Junction Post.
