New Butcher Shop, 1908

Business news from the August 20, 1908 Skidmore New Era (Skidmore, Missouri), page 1:

Opens New Butcher Shop.
Emet David who has been living on a farm southeast of town has opened a meat market in the Walker store building on Elm street, and will move his family here soon.
Mr. David is an experienced meat cutter and he will strive to merit his share of the patronage of the people of the community.

Then, in the September 3, 1908 edition on page 1, we find the following:

Starts New Meat Market.
Charles Groves has started a new meat shop on the south side of Elm street, between the two barber shops. Mr. David, who advertised a meat shop last week, failed to open up for trade, but turned the place over to Mr. Groves, who had the place cleaned, papered and painted nicely, and is now conducting an up-to-date meat market.
We wish the new firm success.
