Mark Brown Goods

We are already beginning to see hints of back-to-school and off-to-college sales.  Here’s what that advertising looked like in 1902:

Ad for Mark Brown's store. Text follows.
Skidmore Standard, Sept. 2, 1902, p. 1

Ad reads, “Dress goods. Groceries. School supplies. Our dress goods consists of all the latest and most up-to-date fabrics. You will be pleased with the price, as well as the quality, because they are as low as the lowest. Our groceries are all new and fresh and when it comes to price or quality, “We are there with the goods.” School supplies. We have a few of those second hand school books left and if you want some of them you better “come a-runnin’.” We also have all kinds of school supplies, and at price that will make you dizzy. If you want goods at almost your own price, then go to Mark Brown.”
