Junior League Party.
The contest which has been going on in the Junior League of the M. E. South church, closed Tuesday with a picnic at the rural home of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Bird.

The purple ribbon side won over the gold by several points, but the losers took it good naturedly. The picnic at the Bird home was a surprise to the Birds, as only one went to the house and asked for Harden was there. Soon they all began to make their appearance and Mrs. Bird began to wonder how many more were coming. The children enjoyed the day by playing outdoor games while the older ones visited. In the afternoon a basket of apples was passed and at five o’clock dinner, consisting of sandwiches, pickles, deviled eggs, salad, radishes, cake and cookies, were served picnic style.

All left feeling they had a pleasant time. Mr. Bird and Lane McGinness brought them home in the truck.
