Hog Thieves, January 1922

From the January 19, 1922 Skidmore News (Skidmore, Missouri), page 1:

Hog Thieves Have Been Busy.
A registered Spotted Poland China sow was stolen from M. P. Sloper’s pens sometime Friday night. Mr. Sloper says the hogs were all there when he fed them Friday evening. The following morning, one sow could not be found. No place could be found where she had gotten out, nor was there any evidence of anyone having entered the hog lot. No noise had been heard in the night and Mr. Sloper is at a loss to know how the sow was taken.
This makes 47 head of hogs that have been stolen from Mr. Sloper since April, 1921.
