We celebrate the hearts and flowers of Valentines Day and warm the cold light of February by recalling weddings from years past. Today’s comes from the January 13, 1899 Skidmore Standard, page 1:
On Wednesday, January 11, 1899, at the residence of W. J. Rodman, in Skidmore, occurred the marriage of Mrs. Lizzie Hiller to Mr. Charles Hammond of Krimlin, Okalhoma. The newly married couple left this morning for Krimlin, Oklahoma, their future home. Mrs. Hammond is a daughter of Nathaniel Burkhead of this place and is very highly esteemed, while the groom, it is said of him, that he is the owner of a large stock farm in Oklahoma and deals extensively in stock. We can but wish them both happiness and prosperity as the days and years pass on.
