Friends honor Hazel Caywood Garnett, 1916

In Honor of Mrs. Garnett

One of the most delightful events of the season was the reception on Tuesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. J. F. Patton in honor of Mrs. Louis Garnett, a bride of the week. Mrs. Patton was assisted in entertaining by Miss Edith Porter.

The surprise of the afternoon was a miscellaneous shower for the bride. A miniature house had been built and elaborately decorated for the occasion, in this house were the gifts from Mrs. Garnett’s friends, which she opened after the serving of refreshments.

Mrs. Garnett who was, until last week, Miss Hazel Caywood, taught for several years in the Skidmore school, and her many friends are glad to welcome her back into their midst.

The guests of Tuesday afternoon included: Misses Jaunita Owens, Carrie Torrey, Susie Saunders, Fannie Galloway, and Anna Linville and Mesdames Roy Morgan, Walter Iddings, Wm. Barber, Gertrude Hickman, L. D. Jordan, J. C. Manning, Mary Garnett, Jack Wells, W. H. Hoblitzell, G. L. Owen, J. W. Barber, H. W. Montgomery, Cora Allen, F. C. Barber, Alex. Wells, R. A. Walker, I.
