Francis Linville to Represent Nodaway County
Francis A. Linville of Skidmore will represent Nodaway County at the Boy’s State Fair School of the Missouri State Fair, to be held at Sedalia, Aug. 18 to 25, according to W. G. Dillon of the State Department of Public Schools at Jefferson City.
One boy, between the age of 12 and 17, from each county of Missouri has been chosen by competitive examinations, in such subjects as arithmetic, geography and agriculture, for the honor of attending the school. The fortunate 114 boys will be the guests of the state during the fair week.
They will have a vacation week in which pleasure will be combined with profit. Not only will they get the maximum educational value from the hundreds of agricultural exhibits, but they will see the mammoth amusement program, which includes twenty-nine horse races, a double barrelled circus, a $200,000 style show and a brilliant carnival.
A small tent city will furnish living quarters, and the boys will attend demonstrations and conduct experiments together under competent supervision. W. Dillon is superintendent of the school.
