Fern Kingery Chester Returns

The December 17, 1908 edition of the Skidmore, Missouri New Era announced the return of a town daughter, Fern Kingery, and her husband Mr. Chester, in a “high class vaudeville entertainment.” Here’s the scoop from page 6:

Chester Comedy Company.
Will give a show at the opera house here Saturday night Dec. 19. This will be a high class vaudeville entertainment, consisting of the sweetest and most up-to-date songs, rendered by artists of ability.

There will also be presented, gymnastic features, barrel jumping, flying trapeze, songs and dances. Mr. Chester has promised the people at Skidmore, one of the best vaudeville shows of the season. Tickets are on sale now. Any one wishing a good seat ought to secure it at once, because an extra large crowd is expected. Prices 25 and 35 cents. Model Drug Co., Opera Block.

Fern Chester, known by her many Skidmore friends as Miss Fern Kingery, will appear in high class singing in the Chester Comedy Co., Saturday night. Her old friends of Skidmore ought to extend her a hearty and cordial greeting.
