Farewell for Miss McElvain, 1921

From the Skidmore News (Skidmore, Missouri), May 5, 1921, page 1:

Gave Farewell Party.
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Yager gave a farewell party Wednesday evening, April 27, for Miss Esther McElvain, who has taught the Scrub Oak school for the past year.

The entertainment consisted of party and card games. Refreshments of fruit salad and cake were served.

Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Rex Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Dawson, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Holsclaw and son Silas, Mr. and Mrs. John Zook, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Yager and son Ralph, Miss Georgia Kinman of Elmo, Miss Esther McElvain, Ralph Conrad, Willie Bagby, Alisha Yager, Robert Yager, Clifford Yager, the host and hostess and daughter, Helen Irene.

A most enjoyable evening was spent.
