Wedding bells rang out in the Skidmore News (Skidmore, Missouri) of March 3, 1921, on page 1:

Devers-Dougherty.
Miss Blanche Devers and Irvin Dougherty were married at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon, February 26, at the parsonage of the First Christian Church at Maryville, by Rev. R. E. Snodgrass. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Martin.

Mrs. Dougherty is the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Devers, and has been teaching in the Union Valley school near here. Mr. Dougherty is the son of Robert Dougherty of Maryville.

Dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents Sunday, with only the immediate relatives present. The young couple left Wednesday for Akron, Colo., where they will make their home.

Shower for Newly-weds.
The Loyal Bereans class of the Christian Sunday School gave a shower for Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Dougherty at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Devers, last Tuesday evening. The class presented the young couple with a set of tea-spoons and a sugar shell.

Those present were: Jessie McClain, Olie Earley, Florence Jordan, Ella Merritt, Myrtle Brown, Iona Devers, Mrs. Charles Money, Mrs. Delavan Robbins, W. K. Zook, Charles Beverlin, Marvin Hitchcock, and Lee Beverlin.

Mrs. Grigsby, being out of town, was unable to attend.
