Daleview Updates, May 1922

From the May 11, 1922 Skidmore News (Skidmore, Missouri), page 5:

Daleview Items.
The grade track meet was held last Thursday at the high school. The spelling and reading contests were completed in the forenoon. In these contests, Walkup’s Grove won first with a total of 32 points. South Center and West Point tied for second. In the afternoon Salem won the most points in the track and field meet. Salem also secured the highest number of points in all events, winning the cup. A big dinner was served by the women of the district. There was plenty of food for all and the tables were filled with dainties for the meal.

Graduation exercises for the high school and grades will be held next week. Monday night, May 15, the class play, Higbee of Harvard, will be given. On Thursday night, May 18, Professor Burt Loomis, professor of Education, Maryville State Teachers College, will give the class address. On Sunday, May 14, Rev. J. J. Cokely of Rock Port will preach the baccalaureate sermon.
