Cloak Sale at Barrett, Stoolfer & Owens, 1908

We’re looking for winter bargains, and we have found them at the store of Barrett, Stoolfer & Owens in Skidmore, Missouri. Too bad we missed this ten-day sale, as advertised in the Skidmore New Era, November 26, 1908, page 5:

Large advertisement is illustrated with a fashionable woman and child. Ad reads, “Sweeping reductions in our cloak department. Commencing Friday morning, November 27, and continuing for a period of ten days, we will offer our entire line of ladies’ wraps for sale at greatly reduced prices. If you want a cloak you cannot afford to miss this sale. We must have room for our Xmas goods, and all cloaks must go regardless of price. Look these prices over carefully! And then come and see the cloaks and judge for yourself. We will sell cloaks worth $17.50 for $11.50, $12.00 for $8.50, $11.00 for $7.50, $8.00 for $5.00, $7.50 for $5.00, $6.50 for $4.00, $5.00 for $3.00, $3.50 for $2.00. These cloaks are all strictly new and up to the minute. You can’t fully appreciate these values until you see the goods. Don’t forget the date! Come early and take advantage of this sacrifice sale.
