We are sorry to have missed the pleasure of shopping at the R. B. Foster store in Skidmore, Missouri, which later became the Gray & Ashbrook store. We really missed out on 1907’s giveaway of a box full of money. Here’s the ad from the December 19, 1907 edition of the Skidmore New Era:
Ad for the R. B. Foster store in Skidmore, Missouri in December 1907 reads, “A big snap. All this free! With each dollar’s worth of goods bought for cash or produce you receive a key, one of which unlocks the box shown in above cut and on display in our store, which is just full of money. We extend a cordial welcome to all to call and inspect our line before buying your Xmas presents. Our many lines are complete and we are making special prices on many seasonable goods. Big snap in ladies’ cloaks, If in need of anything in the cloak line we can save you big money, as they must all be closed out regardless of price. R. B. Foster.”
