Charlie Groves’ New Oakland, 1913

Automotive news from the May 29, 1913 Skidmore News (Skidmore, Missouri), page 4:

Driving New Oakland.

Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Groves visited in Skidmore Sunday. Charlie was driving his new Oakland car and took several of his friends a joy ride. By the way, this car has one of the smoothest running engines ever put into an automobile. He can slow it down to any speed he desires and it will walk right up a hill with as little noise as if running on level ground. Charlie says, “The Oakland is the car with a conscience,” the one that will do all it promises and the car for one to buy for comfort, service and durability.
