Change in Delivery Service, 1918

An announcement from R. B. Foster in the May 23, 1918 Skidmore News:

Change in Delivery Service

Beginning May 20, 1918
In compliance with the government request to make but one delivery each day, for the conservation of manpower, we will, for the duration of the war, make but one delivery each day, at nine a.m. All orders must be given either the day before or prior to eight o’clock in the morning.

On Saturdays, purchases made prior to 3 o’clock will be delivered on that day. Making two deliveries on Saturday.

It is our desire to be patriotic and adhere strictly to the food administration’s ruling regarding deliveries, and not wait to be ordered to do so. We will appreciate your co-operation.

R. B. Foster.
