Brooks-Hayzlett

We celebrate the hearts and flowers of Valentines Day and warm the cold light of February by recalling weddings from years past.  Today’s comes from the January 15, 1914 Skidmore New Era, page 6:

Brooks-Hayzlett

A very quiet wedding occurred Sunday morning at the home of Nicholas Kill at ten o’clock when Mrs. Mary L. Brooks and Logan C. Hazlett were united in marriage, Harry K. Morgan, pastor of the M. E. church officiating.

Mrs. Hayzlett for some time was employed as central by the telephone company of Graham.  She has won for herself many warm friends because of her cheerful disposition and willingness to help.

Mr. Hayzlett is well known, being raised near Graham on a farm.  He is a very quiet young man, possessing good habits, which are to be admired, and has many friends in the community.

For the present they will make their home with his father, living south of Graham.  May health and prosperity accompany their way is the sincere wishes of their many friends.
