Band Practice, June 1922

From the June 15, 1922 Skidmore News (Skidmore, Missouri), page 1:

Band Practice Tomorrow Night.
The Young People’s Band will meet for practice tomorrow evening at the Royal Hall. Mr. Walker of Maitland, who has been engaged to train the band, will be present, and the first real practice will be held. There have been four or five additions to the band within the past week, and it is understood that no more members are wanted just at this time. Most of the members have received their instruments, and a great deal of interest is being taken in the band.

From later on that same page:

The ice cream supper given Saturday evening for the benefit of the Young People’s Band cleared about $20. One man donated $3 one day last week, saying this, in his estimation, is one of the greatest steps ever taken in Skidmore.
